Terms for businesses
1. Who we are
BookedTik is run by [BookedTik owner's legal name or company name] of [registered address][, company number …] ("BookedTik", "we", "us"). You can contact us from the Help & support box in your app (Shop settings), or by email at [support email].
"You" means the business that signs up, and the person signing up confirms they are allowed to agree to these terms for that business. BookedTik is for businesses only, not for personal use, so consumer-protection rules for shoppers do not apply between you and us (they still apply between you and your customers).
2. What BookedTik provides
- A booking website for your business at yourname.bookedtik.com (and, if you connect one, your own web address), with an app for you and your staff.
- Online bookings, reminders and emails to your customers, calendars for your staff, and tools to manage services, prices, opening hours and promotions.
- Optional deposits and booking fees, taken through your own Stripe account (see section 6).
We keep improving BookedTik and may change features. If we remove something important you rely on, we will tell you at least 30 days before, unless we have to act sooner for security or legal reasons.
3. Free trial and price
- New businesses get a free trial (shown in your app). No card is needed during the trial.
- After the trial, BookedTik costs the monthly price shown in your app and on bookedtik.com for your currency (for example £49 a month in the UK), [including / plus] VAT or local sales tax where it applies.
- You pay monthly in advance by card through Stripe. There is no minimum contract — you can cancel any time and your plan runs to the end of the month you have paid for.
- We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice by email. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the new price starts.
4. If a payment fails
If your monthly payment fails, we will email you and try again. If it still hasn't been paid after 30 days, your booking site is paused: customers can't make new bookings, but your data is kept and existing bookings stay in your app. Paying the amount owed switches everything back on straight away.
5. Your responsibilities
- Keep your login details safe and only give staff accounts to people who work for you. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Make sure the information on your site (services, prices, cancellation and deposit rules, opening hours) is accurate and lawful.
- You are the business your customers book with. You are responsible for your services, your prices, your cancellation and refund rules, and your dealings with your customers, including complaints and refunds.
- Don't use BookedTik for anything illegal, to send spam, or to upload anything you don't have the right to use (for example photos).
- Don't try to break, overload, copy or get around the security of BookedTik, or access another business's data.
6. Deposits, booking fees and Stripe
- If you take deposits or booking fees, the money is paid by your customers directly into your own Stripe account. Stripe is a separate payment company and you agree to Stripe's own terms when you connect your account.
- BookedTik never holds your customers' money. Stripe's fees are charged by Stripe to you. BookedTik does not take a cut of deposits [unless the owner decides otherwise].
- Refunds and disputes (chargebacks) on deposits are between you, your customer and Stripe. You can refund from the BookedTik app or your Stripe dashboard.
- On the free plan, each customer pays BookedTik's booking fee (for example £1) with their deposit, and the deposit is at least £5 (or 5 in your currency) so the fees never leave you short. If the customer cancels within your cancellation policy, they get everything back, BookedTik's fee included. If you cancel a booking, your customer still gets everything back and BookedTik's fee is paid by you (it comes out of your Stripe balance) — BookedTik may hand part of it back to you, as shown in your plan details.
- Refunds made in the BookedTik app follow the rules above. If you refund a customer directly in your Stripe dashboard instead, BookedTik's fee on that booking is not handed back.
7. Your data and your customers' data
- Your business's information and your customers' details belong to you. You are the "controller" of your customers' personal data; BookedTik is your "processor" and handles it only to run your booking site, as set out in our data processing terms, which form part of these terms.
- You must have a lawful reason to hold your customers' data and must tell your customers how you use it. Your booking site includes a privacy notice in your business's name that you can rely on for this.
- BookedTik support may access your account to help you. Every time this happens it is recorded, it shows on your Team list as "BookedTik Support" while it lasts, and it ends when we have finished (at most 7 days).
- How BookedTik uses your own details (as the account holder) is explained in our privacy notice.
8. Availability
We work hard to keep BookedTik running all the time, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted (for example during maintenance, or if a service we rely on — such as Google, Stripe or Cloudflare — has a problem). We will try to give notice of planned maintenance.
9. Ending your account
- You can stop at any time by cancelling your plan in the app (Shop settings → Plan & billing) or by writing to us.
- We may pause or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other businesses or customers at risk, or has not paid. Unless it is serious or urgent, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
- You can download your customer, booking, staff and service data at any time (Shop settings → Download my data).
- When your plan ends (cancelled, unpaid or trial over), your site is paused and everything is kept for 12 months, so you can come back. We email you 30 days and 7 days before deleting it. After 12 months we delete it, except anything we must keep by law (for example invoices). You can ask us to delete it sooner.
10. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
- We are not liable for loss of profits, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect loss.
- Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid BookedTik in those 12 months [or £100 if more — owner to confirm].
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll email you at least 30 days before any change that matters to you takes effect. If you keep using BookedTik after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel before they start.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can decide any dispute [owner to confirm]. If you are based outside the UK, this does not take away any rights you have under the law where you are based that can't be excluded.
